Tide forecast
Three times a day, the ICPSM technical staff formulates the tide level forecast for following two days and transmits it to the city. Reports from various monitoring networks and meteorological data received from a number of authorities or obtained on the Internet are analysed. Particular attention is dedicated to the reports concerning the wind along the Adriatic coast, the atmospheric pressure around the Adriatic, Ionian and Tyrrhenian Sea basins and the evolution and path of low pressure centres. On the basis of these analyses, the technicians formulate an initial forecast that is compared and integrated with the results of numerical models.
